Geisha Drinking Sake, circa 1823 - 1824 - Charming design of a geisha drinking sake from a cup with an unusual decoration inside of a minogame or straw-raincoat turtle with moss growing from its shell, an auspicious symbol of longevity. She wears a blue and white summer kimono over a light blue under robe, her hair pulled back into a smooth bun adorned with a comb and hairpins, one with a tiny mandarin duck on it. Beautifully detailed with delicate line work on the hair and eyelashes. A classic Eisen beauty portrait.
