Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Lieutenant General Yoshimine Munesada, 1853

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Lieutenant General Yoshimine Munesada, tugging on the end of a sash decorated with swirling clouds. He looks up with a concerned expression, an umbrella resting over his shoulder. He wears a tunic with a bold geometric pattern over light blue pants with circular motifs. Autumn grasses fill the background beneath a pine branch against the night sky. Nicely detailed.
