Original Sadahide (1807 - 1873) Japanese Woodblock Print
Lord Mashiba Hisayoshi's Departure, 1865

Comments - Great panoramic view of the departure of Lord Mashiba Hisayoshi (the real-life Hashiba Hideyoshi) and his troops. The procession winds along the shore beneath towering pine trees, with banners and standards fluttering in the breeze. At right a group of samurai in red vests carry their spears upright, followed by warriors with their spears horizontal at their sides. A few generals on horseback appear at far left. A striking design, nicely detailed, with fine bokashi shading on the water and sky.

Artist - Sadahide (1807 - 1873)

Image Size - 14" x 28"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Three separate panels. A couple creases and spots, slight curling. Please see photos for details
