Iwai Kumesaburo II as the Geisha Oshun, 1825 - Great kabuki portrait of Iwai Kumesaburo II as the geisha Oshun in the play "Okuni-iri Soga Nakamura." She frowns angrily as she grabs the end of a blue and white towel, leaning forward with arms huddled to her chest. Her kimono features a striking pattern of cranes in flight and flowing water. Two pillows can be seen at lower right, and a print of bamboo and verses in calligraphy decorate the screen above. A nice expressive figure.
