Nakamura Fukusuke I as a Man with a Maple Branch, 1852

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Nakamura Fukusuke I as a man carrying a maple branch over his shoulder, grinning as he looks up, his brows slightly furrowed. His black outer kimono and under robe both feature maple leaf patterns, and his hair is tied back into a thick ponytail with a sash wrapped around his forehead. A curtain with a decorative pattern runs across the top of the page with text at upper right. A nice large expressive figure.
