Comments - Lively depiction of the Yoshiwara during a festival, with a full moon glowing high in the sky. Elegantly dressed courtesans stroll across the foreground, one accompanied by her young kamuro or child apprentice. In the center behind them, lion dancers parade through the street, holding up the large green costume with a fierce lion's head. Young beauties dressed as samurai march along with them, carrying lanterns aloft. Guests and entertainers look down on the bustling scene below from the upper stories of the teahouses lining the road. A nicely detailed subject. Includes accents of metallic pigment on the moon and kimono that have oxidized to a dark tone.
