Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of Iwai Hanshiro VIII as the geisha Kohan and Nakamura Shikan IV as the yakko or footman Komahei in the dance drama "Tsuchi-gumo" (The Earth Spider." He looks up at her with an angry frown, a lantern in one hand. His black outer kimono features large crests on the shoulders and oversized blossoms, with an unusual green collar with an interlocking links pattern. The beauty smiles as she looks over her shoulder while adjusting a hair ornament, unaware of her companion's anger. A blossoming cherry branch frames the red sky above. Nice expressive figures.
