Bando Mitsugoro as Urazato and Ichikawa Kuzo as Tokijiro

Comments - Classic kabuki scene of the young man Tokijiro rescuing his lover, the Yoshiwara courtesan Urazato. The beauty's employer and his wife tied her up in the snowy courtyard and beat her after discovering her affair with the young man. Tokijiro has climbed a pine tree to get over the fence to reach her, and Urazato looks up at him with a grateful smile as she ties the obi around her waist. Tokijiro looks up at the circular inset depicting a young woman at upper left, frowning as he pushed up the sleeve of his kimono. Nicely detailed with delicate embossing on the white cloth around Tokijiro's head. from left, the actors are Bando Mitsugoro and Ichikawa Kuzo. A handsome design.
