Original Koryusai (1735 - 1790) Japanese Woodblock Print
The Seven Lucky Gods

Comments - Handsome pillar print depicting Japan's beloved Seven Lucky Gods. At bottom, Hotei grins happily as he reads from a message. Behind him, Jurojin and Daikoku look over his shoulder. Ebisu appears in the center, holding a fishing pole, with the Goddess Benzaiten and Bishamonten above. Fukurokuju stands at the top, holding a rustic wooden walking stick with a scroll tied to it. Nicely composed to fit the narrow format, with expressive figures. A rarely seen design by Koryusai.

Artist - Koryusai (1735 - 1790)

Image Size - 26 1/8" x 4 1/2"

Condition - This print with nice detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. Horizontal centerfold, creasing throughout, a couple small losses at edges and holes. Please see photos for details.
