Comments - Charming scene of courtesans enjoying a fine spring day on the verandah of a teahouse in the , which opens onto a courtyard filled with blossoming cherry trees. At right, a young woman writes a poem slip with brush in hand, the beauty beside her wearing a black coat with a burnished geometric pattern. In the center, a courtesan smiles and waves to companions across the courtyard. At left, a courtesan fans herself as she looks up with a smile, resting her elbow on the verandah railing. The women are elegantly dressed in fine kimono with elaborate hairstyles accented with hairpins and combs. Wonderful architectural detail in the setting and household furnishings. A beautiful triptych.
