Sake - Lovely portrait of a beauty from a rarely seen Eisen series titled "Eight Favorite Things in the Modern World. She smiles as she looks down, wearing fashionable red lipstick that takes on a green tone when applied more thickly, giving the appearance of two colors. Her black kimono features a hollyhock leaf crest on each shoulder, worn over a tie-dyed red under robe with a blue collar featuring cherry blossoms. At upper left, a red lacquer sake cup, referring to sake as the favorite item for this print, rests alongside a pocket mirror and a stack of folded tissues. A classic Edo era beauty portrait by Eisen.
