A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Kuniyoshi Prints - One of the great masters of ukiyo-e woodblocks, Kuniyoshi is perhaps best known for his warrior prints, but he worked in a range of subjects. In addition to dramatic samurai and battle scenes, he also created kabuki, beauty, landscape, and comic designs, each expertly drawn and composed. Don't miss this opportunity to acquire a classic woodblock by this great Edo era artist at a low opening bid price.

A Stranger to Miyamoto Musashi, 1849 - 1852 - Intriguing scene of the great martial arts master Miyamoto Musashi at a post-station on a road where travelers are resting. In the center, a stranger shows Musashi a magic glass, which appears to be a magnifying glass, holding it close to the samurai's face. The samurai frowns back at him, unsure of what he is looking at. At upper right, some of the travelers watch with amusement, while others go about their business. A wooden bridge at left arches over the water and a pine tree frames the sky. The first time we've seen this fascinating subject.
