A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Kuniyoshi Prints - One of the great masters of ukiyo-e woodblocks, Kuniyoshi is perhaps best known for his warrior prints, but he worked in a range of subjects. In addition to dramatic samurai and battle scenes, he also created kabuki, beauty, landscape, and comic designs, each expertly drawn and composed. Don't miss this opportunity to acquire a classic woodblock by this great Edo era artist at a low opening bid price.

Outside a Shop at New Year's - Handsome kabuki portrait of a man standing outside a shop at New Year's. He holds a battledore in one hand and a shuttlecock in the other for a traditional holiday game similar to badminton called hanetsuki. A cluster of pine branches and bamboo frames the doorway behind him, a typical New Year decoration. Nice detail in the setting.

Image Size - 14 5/8" x 9 5/8"
