Original Shunsen (1762 - circa 1830) Japanese Woodblock Print
Courtesan with a Dragon Obi Kakemono, circa 1830

Comments - Lovely kakemono or vertical diptych of an elegantly dressed courtesan, smiling happily as she pulls up the edge of her robe. Her outer kimono is patterned with flowers, worn over a leave print under robe and tied with a fantastic obi featuring winged dragons amidst swirling clouds. Her hair is pulled back into two large loops, adorned with combs and floral hairpins. A beautiful Edo era beauty design.

Artist - Shunsen (1762 - circa 1830)

Image Size - 28 1/4" x 9 7/8"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Two attached panels, backed with paper. A few creases, slight curling, small hole repaired with backing. Please note, due to the size, this print may be shipped rolled. Please see photos for details.
