Ishukankokai Published Commemorative

Twelve Aspects of Women - We are very excited to offer a lovely group of shin-hanga beauties from a special commemorative series titled "Twelve Aspects of Women." In the 1980s, the venerable Ishukankokai publishing company was commissioned to release a limited edition of 100 sets of 12 prints each of these masterwork shin-hanga beauty woodblocks. Expert carvers and printers meticulously reprinted these bijin subjects with the same attention to quality and detail as the originals. Exquisitely printed with deluxe techniques such as mica backgrounds, delicate embossing, and fine bokashi shading, these images are a tour de force of woodblock printing. These reprint sets were an immediate hit on the market. Due to the limited edition release of 100 sets total, and the technical difficulty in the quality of the prints, they immediately commanded high prices.

If you have always wanted to own a shin-hanga beauty masterpiece but have found the originals unattainable, consider this incredible opportunity to purchase from this lovely group. Either framed and displayed, or simply collected and stored, they are truly 20th century shin-hanga treasures.
