Comments - Dramatic depiction of the famous general Sato Masakiyo (the real-life Kato Kiyomasa) fighting off two warriors. In the center, he kneels atop one samurai, grabbing him by the back of the neck while sending another opponent tumbling over his knee. He wears a fine suit of armor and a helmet topped with horns, his eyes bulging as he grimaces angrily. At upper right, a daimyo of the Ashikaga clan watches from astride his dappled horse, watching the struggle intently with his retainers gathered around him. A large pine tree frames the scene in the center, with a waterfall rushing over the rocky cliff in the distance. Great expressive figures with wonderful detail in the armor and weapons, and a handsome natural setting.
