Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Sawamura Tossho as an otokodate or street knight, looking over his shoulder with a slightly suspicious frown. He wears a purple kimono patterned with blocks of writing, a blue cloth draped over his neck and a pipe in one hand. A fan-shaped inset above contains a verse. A striking format.
