Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Comments - Great Hiroshige fan print depicting a traveler on horseback crossing a river during a rain storm. The man is hidden beneath a straw covering, only his feet visible, as the rain falls straight down, sending up white splashes as it hits the water and ground. A charming, somewhat comic image, wonderfully detailed. Seldom seen in reprint.
