Series; The New Biography of Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Shinsen Taikoki)

The Mountain House of the Kyogoku Clan, 1883 - Terrific diptych showing the famous 16th century samurai and leader Toyotomi Hideyoshi listening to the young beauty Matsumoru playing the koto at a mountain house belonging to the Kyogoku clan. The warrior watches her in secret, hidden behind a tree with two of his retainers kneeling behind him. A beautiful garden setting with a full moon in the evening sky. A handsome print with rich color and fine detail, bordered with an attractive brocade design.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two attached panels. Small loss at corner, a couple small tears at edge, repaired. Creasing and light thinning along vertical centerfold. Please see photos for details.
