Tsuzuki Denshichi, 1866

Series; Twenty-eight Forms of Murders with Verse

Tsuzuki Denshichi, 1866 - Dramatic portrait of the young Tsuzuki Denshichi fighting for his life. Bleeding from a wound to his shoulder, he thrusts his bloody sword out before him as he lifts one foot, dodging a shot streaking across the scene. A sword and a cap fall through the air below, and smoke fills the scene. An ornate chandelier with glass globes hangs above a pillar with a yellow curtain at right. A fantastic design from this rare Yoshiiku series.
