Original Kacho-e Paintings by Shizuo Ashikaga - Lovely original kacho-e or birds and flowers painting by Shizuo Ashikaga, done for a woodblock print published by the Uchida Art Company of Kyoto. These paintings come from the archives of Uchida, and were never intended to be sold, but rather used as preparation for the woodblock of the same subject. They feature beautiful soft color and fine brush work, and each is signed with the red artist's seal. Some include notations or borders in pencil. A rare opportunity to acquire an original shin-hanga preparatory painting.
