Mukan-no-tayu Atsumori, circa 1845 - Great portrait of the young Taira warrior, Prince Atsumori, gripping his sword with both hands as he lunges to the side. He wears a fine suit of armor over an elegant robe and pants featuring the butterfly Taira crest, and a helmet topped with a dragon. Sadly, Atsumori was captured and beheaded at the Battle of Ichi-no-Tani, his first conflict. A handsome design, nicely detailed.
