Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Boat

Series; Images from Auspicious Days in the Floral Calendar, circa 1844

Boat - Charming portrait of a beauty preparing to board a pleasure boat. She smiles happily as leans forward, taking hold of the prow with one hand. In her other she carries a wooden box, a plaid robe draped over her shoulder. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun, adorned with a comb, a decorative hairpin, and ribbons, a few loose wisps of hair framing her face. An attractive design from a rarely seen Kunisada beauty series, nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with good detail as shown. Backed with paper. A few creases, rubbing. Please see photos for details.
