Sawamura Tossho II, 1862

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Sawamura Tossho II as man carrying a New Year's decoration over his shoulder. The branch is decorated with a mask of Okame, the goddess of mirth, a turnip, and lucky objects such as a raincoat that allows the wearer to fly. He looks over his shoulder with a slight frown, dressed in a blue coat with a white brick pattern border over a blue gray kimono tucked up at the waist and black leggings. An interesting subject.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 10" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Creasing, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
