Poling a Boat

Shibata Zeshin - Born in Edo, Shibata Zeshin was originally apprenticed to a lacquerer, and studied painting with Shijo School artist Suzuki Nanrei as a foundation. Zeshin was well known for his lacquer work, but he was also an exceptional calligrapher. These woodblock prints feature his fluid line work and bold strokes, demonstrating his mastery of this technique. We seldom come across prints by Zeshin, so if these appeal to you, bid now!

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Vertical centerfold. Slight toning, a few creases. A couple prints have a few spots Please see photos for details. Generally in good condition overall.
