The boatman grips his oar with both hands, ready to use it as a weapon, leaning forward aggressively. The beauty stares back at him, her hand flung out to the side. A driving rain slants across the scene, blowing the willow branches above a swiftly flowing river. Great expressive figures by this Osaka artist, in rarely seen full oban format.
