Sericulture

Comments - Attractive scene of women engaged in sericulture, the ancient art of producing silk. At lower left, a beauty kneels beside a tray of silkworm cocoons attached to small branches. At upper right, woman dressed in matching black and white checked kimono sit at a table boiling the cocoons to release the silk thread, which is wound onto a long reel above their heads. At left, another beauty carries a basket of mulberry leaves to feed the silkworms. An interesting design with vibrant color and nice detail.
