Young Nobleman with Prayer Beads - Handsome kabuki portrait of a young nobleman holding a string of prayer beads, looking over his shoulder with a slight smile. He wears a red robe decorated with maple leaves and wide white embossed bands. The figure is set off by a red tie-dyed textile pattern. The inset at upper left shows a temple in springtime, with visitors strolling about the grounds dotted with blossoming cherry trees. The title cartouche at upper right includes a lantern and fireman's standard called a matoi, with the series title relating to fires being called "flowers." A handsome design with vibrant color and fine graphic appeal.
