Archery Practice - Great Chikanobu triptych depicting a young boy practicing archery indoors, shooting arrows at a target affixed to a kimono draped over a stand. Three upper-class women smile indulgently as they enjoy watching him play. He has just released an arrow, and the woman kneeling next to him prepares to hand him another. A standing woman pulls the kimono taught to ensure a good view of the target. A fantastic design with beautiful color and intricate detail in the sumptuous kimono fabrics and a subtle pattern across the background. Includes embossing in the white kimono trim and burnishing in the hair and the black lacquer stand. A wonderful image from this great series.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 14" x 27 5/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. Small losses at corners, repaired. Slight toning, creasing, and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
