Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a young boy gripping a sword and facing a blade thrust at him from the right. He grins as he looks over his shoulder, the sleeves of his robe tied back with a white sash and his striped pants tucked up at the waist for easier movement. He wears a striking black kimono with plovers flying above blue waves, his hair pulled back into a thick topknot. A palanquin waits beneath a pine tree behind him. A handsome subject.
