Young Samurai about to Commit Suicide, 1897

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a young samurai about to commit suicide, sitting at right his a dirk in his hand, ready to bare his chest. In the center, a warrior brandishes a sword, holding the blade between his hands as he glares angrily at the fellow at left, who grips a gun. Between them, a beauty holding a naginata looks off into space with a wistful expression. An intriguing subject with expressive figures and fine line work in the hair.
