The Second Army Fights a Great Battle at Jinzhou, 1984

Comments - Dramatic scene of the Japanese Second Army fighting the Chinese in close quarters at Jinzhou during the Sino-Japanese War. In the center, a Japanese officer on horseback grabs hold of an enemy's pole arm with one hand while raising his sword above his head at the same time. His horse rears as another foe thrusts a bayonet at the animal's chest. Fighting continues all around, with a Chinese warrior on horseback at upper right drawing back his sword. An ornate building frames the scene at right. A lively design, detailed with burnishing the some of the black uniforms. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, has this image in its collection.

Artist - Nakamura Shuko (active circa 1890s)

Image Size - 14" x 27 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Slight toning and soiling, spot. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
