Series; Celebrated Products of Mountains and Seas, 1852

Mackerel from Noto Province - Attractive portrait of a beauty leaning over a kotatsu, a frame over a portable brazier covered with a quilt to keep the heat in. She bites the sleeve of her kimono as she looks up out of the corners of her eyes, her face resting against her hand. Her deep blue green kimono is intricately patterned, worn over a red under robe with a tie-dyed blue collar that matches the ribbon in her hair. The inset above shows teams of men working large capstans to pull in fishing nets loaded with mackerel from Noto Province. A handsome design with beautiful rich color.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 1/2"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. Wormholes, repaired. Very slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
