Portraits of Sansho - Handsome design from a series by Toshihide depicting Ichikawa Danjuro IX, one of the most popular and successful kabuki actors of the Meiji era. These bold portraits beautifully capture the actor in a variety of roles, from brash samurai to jealous women. Many feature deluxe embellishments, such as burnishing or embossing. A rarely seen series and a great choice for a kabuki enthusiast.
