Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a confrontation taking place. In the center, a nobleman holds a young boy in formal court dress on his shoulder. He stares angrily at the bearded man at left, raising his staff of office above his head. He wears a black robe with a beautiful burnished cloud pattern and a black court cap. The fellow at left leans forward with an agitated expression, while the curly-haired man at lower right makes a motion to restraint the courtier behind him, who grimaces and grits his teeth. An interesting subject with large colorful figures, bordered with a simulated black lacquer frame.
