Courtesan in a New Year's Kimono

Comments - Attractive portrait of a courtesan wearing a blue outer kimono patterned with toys associated with New Year's, including a decorated battledore and a feathered shuttlecock for a traditional holiday game similar to badminton. Her rose colored obi features pink clouds and medallions edged with blue sacred jewels, and she wears very tall black geta clogs. A charming design.
