Original Yoshiiku (1833 - 1904) Japanese Woodblock Print
Actors Backstage, 1861

Comments - Terrific image of kabuki actors backstage at a theater. At top center, two men sit around a brazier, one smoking a pipe and the other resting his elbows on its frame. At right, a man carries a rolled up script, while an attendant behind him holds out a robe with an agitated expression. A great look at actors offstage.

Artist - Yoshiiku (1833 - 1904)

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few holes, repaired. Slight soiling and creasing, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
