Beauties with a Songbook and Shamisen

Comments - Attractive portrait a beauty handing a songbook to her companion, who rests one hand atop a shamisen, a pick in her other hand. The seated woman kneels beside a brazier with red coals in it, her purple kimono and blue and green obi trailing on the floor around her. The background is shaded from pink to green, and includes fan-shaped and rectangular insets filled with text. A nice design with pretty color. We've never come across this Kunichika series before.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 9" + margins as shown
