Report of the Nation's Victory, 1877

Comments - Handsome triptych showing a gathering of the ladies-in-waiting at the Meiji Imperial Palace. They are seated around a table covered with a floral cloth, preparing linen and bandages for the Imperial Army during the Satsuma Rebellion. The women smile and talk excitedly as the empress arrives at right, bringing news of a rumored Meiji victory over the rebellious samurai. Wonderful detail in the elegant household furnishings and fine embossing in the white kimono. An attractive design.

Artist - Kuniaki II (1835 - 1888)

Image Size - 13 7/8" x 28 1/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. A few small marks. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
