Cherry Blossoms at Night in the Garden of Returning Geese, 1854

Comments - Handsome scene of Mitsuuji, the Rustic or Country Genji, enjoying the moonlight on a spring night. He leans over a red robe draped over a walkway railing, grinning happily as he looks up. At upper right, a beauty disappears around the corner of the palace, her kimono trailing on the verandah. A flock of geese can be seen in silhouette against the night sky as they fly past a full moon. A charming subject with fine shading in the background.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x9 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few small holes, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
