Beauties on a Verandah, 1861

Comments - Attractive scene of beauties on the verandah of a teahouse overlooking a courtyard garden. One woman kneels beside the railing, smiling and reaching her hand up to her companion. She gins back, a fan in one and hand a role of tissues in the other. Her blue kimono is bordered with large morning glories, worn over a red under robe with an embossed white collar. Wonderful architectural detail in the setting. A charming subject. Includes additional embossing on the fan.

Artist - Kunisada II (1823 - 1880)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 7/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small losses at corners, a few holes, repaired. Slight soiling, a few creases, stain at edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
