Thirty-six Modern Restaurants - Kunichika's 1878 series "Thirty-six Modern Restaurants" depicts beauties at popular restaurants. Women are shown serving a meal, relaxing in the garden or on a verandah, or arriving or leaving a teahouse. These colorful designs are nicely detailed with handsome interior and exterior settings showing an interest in Western perspective. An attractive Meiji era beauty series.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants at top corners from previous mounting. Slight soiling, a few creases, slight rubbing at edges. Some prints have a small tear at edge or thinning spot, repaired. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
