Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of a couple standing outside a dilapidated temple or shrine. In the center, a beauty holding her robes closed leans forward with a slight smile. She wars a lavender coat patterned with snow medallions and blossoming plum branches. Her companion stares back at her with a frown, gripping a wooden pole under his arm. He wears a black coat over a print kimono tucked into stripe pants, his hair very short as if growing out from having been shaven off. The plaster on the panels behind them is cracked and missing. From left, the actors are Nakamura Fukusuke IV and Onoe Kikugoro V. Nicely detailed with burnishing in the black coat and bokashi shading in the mountains in the distance.
