Cherry Blossoms at Azumadai - Charming triptych of children enjoying an outing to Azumadai to view the blossoming cherry trees, playing a game of blind man's bluff under the falling petals. At right a young boy tugs on his mother's sleeve as he hops on one foot, catching her by surprise as she turns to see what is going on. She wears a blue kimono patterned with birds flying and delicate silver mica raindrops. At left, three girls race across the temple grounds, smiling and waving their hands as they evade the blindfolded young girl in the center. Other visitors enjoy a picnic under the trees at right, some pausing to watch the children playing. A beautifully drawn image with lovely color and detail, including touches of silver mica on the kimono and obi, and embossing along the edges of the flowering trees.
