Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of an elderly nobleman in conversation with a young man and a beauty. At left, a priest stands behind a sliding panel as he eavesdrops, a frown on his face. In the center, the young man listens with a slight smile, dressed in a black robe with a beautiful burnished lozenge and cloud pattern, and a tall black court cap. The elder leans forward clutching his fan between his hands as he watches the woman. The room opens onto a view of a red temple building under falling snow. A handsome design with vibrant color and a nicely detailed setting. Includes additional burnishing in the black court caps.
