Original Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861) Japanese Woodblock Print
Ichikawa Ebizo V, 1833

Comments - Great kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Ebizo V as a commoner sitting atop a black lacquer koto case. He looks up with an angry grimace as he adjusts the white cloth wrapped around his neck. His kimono is made from a patchwork of fabrics, and his hair appears unkempt. A glowing lantern with a crescent moon opening on the side hangs from the pine tree above. A nice expressive figure.

Artist - Kuniyoshi (1797 - 1861)

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 5/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few small wormholes, repaired. Slight soiling and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
