Comments - Handsome illustration of a battle during the Sino-Japanese War. At right, Japanese troops in white uniforms overrun a gun emplacement along a river, a cannon and broken carriage lying on the ground. In the center, additional Japanese reinforcements cross over a bridge to join the fighting as some of the Chinese flee away up the hill at right. At left, officers watch the battle from a hilltop, one using a pair of binoculars, while two buglers sound the charge. A lively scene with handsome wood grain impression and fine bokashi shading in the background.
