Uedo Mokuhanga printing

Uedo Mokuhanga printing - This print is from a special edition printing of shin-hanga landscape masterworks from the artists Hasui and Koitsu printed by the publisher Uedo Mokuhanga. In the early 1960s Uedo Mokuhanga re-released a set of twenty-seven famous shin-hanga landscape prints. These beautiful designs were printed from the original blocks and are a nice opportunity to collect some of the most stunning landscapes of the shin-hanga period.

Tokaido Numazu Harbor, 1940 - Wonderful view of the harbor at Numazu as a boatman steers his craft across the water. Buildings line the shore, with boats docked at the water's edge, the view framed by pine branches at right. Mt. Fuji rises above the mountains in the distance, the snow-capped peak looming above misty clouds. A handsome scene with fine shading and shimmering reflections on the quiet surface of the sea.
