Pride of Tokyo--Famous Things - Attractive design from a rarely seen Kunichika series published from 1896 to 1897 depicting famous places, people, and products in Tokyo. Each print features a portrait of a beauty surrounded by a bamboo frame, with a scene above of a noted shop or restaurant, often with its famous product shown, and a kimono textile pattern at lower left. The title cartouche at upper right is surrounded by a folding fan and a colorful blossom. Beautifully printed with fine line work and soft shading, most images include deluxe treatments such as burnishing or embossing. An interesting series.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Toning, slight soiling, stains, slight rubbing at edges. Some prints have ink offsetting or thinning. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
