Shinohara Kunimoto in Battle, 1890

Comments - Fantastic scene showing the warrior Onoe Kikugoro V as Shinohara Kunimoto in battle at a shrine. At left, he thrusts his spear at an enemy riding by on horseback, who raises his sword behind his head, ready to strike. Kunimoto wears a fantastic flowing red wig and a dramatic black jacket and shirt with gold buttons. Bullets streak across the sky as two other samurai fight at right, one using his gun as a club. A handsome design with large dramatic figures and vibrant color.

Artist - Kunisada III (1848 - 1920)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 27 1/4" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Vertical fold in left panel, diagonal fold in right panel. Slight soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
